Welcome to Enhancing Learning & Enrichment Academy, an educational program of Enhancing Body & Mind.

This handbook is a short, plain-language guide for families. If anything is unclear, call us at 239-256-2596.

About This Handbook

Enhancing Learning & Enrichment Academy offers the Home Education Learning Program and Enrichment Programs. These are separate program areas with different enrollment requirements, services, fees and policies. This handbook includes general Academy information along with separate sections explaining the policies that apply to each program area. Please review Part 2, which applies to all families, and then the part that applies to your student's enrollment.

Our mission is to support students and families with structured learning, enrichment and wellness experiences that build confidence and skill.

Our vision is students who take ownership of their learning, families who stay closely involved, and a learning environment where every student is known by name.

Communication & Family Portal

We send applicable updates by email and through the Family Portal, so please keep your contact information current.

Enrolled families use the portal to see applicable schedules, program information, resources and student information.

Public Academy dates and closures are posted on the Academy Calendar. Enrolled families also see applicable student and program dates in the Family Portal.

Student Expectations

• • Be respectful to staff, other students and the learning space.
• • Come ready to participate.
• • Follow staff directions.
• • Take care of materials and learning spaces.

Parent & Guardian Expectations

• • Keep your contact information current.
• • Tell us about attendance or schedule changes as early as you can.
• • Review your student's applicable program and progress information.
• • Keep family-responsible balances current.
• • Pick students up on time when applicable.

Safety & Authorized Student Release

For in-person services, students are released only to a parent, guardian or an authorized pickup listed by the family. Please bring identification when asked.

Records & Privacy

Student, enrollment, learning, attendance and billing information is private. It is available only to the family and to authorized Academy staff as appropriate.

Requests for records should be made in writing to the Academy.

Digital Access

Login information is provided privately to the enrolled family. Keep it private and do not share family or student portal logins outside your household.

Payments & Family-Responsible Balances

Families are responsible for the balances that apply to their student's program. If a scholarship, community or partner agency covers part of the cost, the family remains responsible only for the remaining portion. A payment that a funding source is still processing is not treated as family nonpayment.

Program-specific payment terms, late-payment rules and refund rules are described in the part of this handbook that applies to your student's program.

Educational & Wellness Notice

Enhancing Learning & Enrichment Academy provides educational and wellness-focused services. The Academy does not provide medical care, mental-health counseling, psychotherapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy or other licensed clinical services.

Program Overview

Families remain the primary educators. The Academy provides individualized Learning Plans, guided learning support, daily learning goals, progress monitoring and family progress reporting.

Learning Guides work with a small group of students each day.

Grade Levels

• • Elementary — Grades K-5
• • Middle School — Grades 6-8
• • High School — Grades 9-12

Schedule

Scheduled learning days are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Friday is reserved for Catch-Up & Learning Support and is scheduled separately.

Attendance & Schedule Changes

Students should attend their scheduled learning days and arrive ready to begin at 9:00 AM. If your child will be absent, late or leaving early, please tell us as soon as possible. Planned absences should be reported in advance.

Absences, late arrivals and early departures are recorded so the Learning Guide can adjust that day's goals and plan catch-up work.

Friday Catch-Up & Learning Support

Friday Catch-Up & Learning Support is optional and included in tuition.

Space is limited, so Friday attendance must be reserved in advance. Reservations close Thursday at 5:00 PM.

Learning Plans & Academic Progress & Reporting

Each student has an individualized Learning Plan describing their current level, focus subjects and goals. Plans are reviewed with the family and updated as the student progresses. Learning is monitored throughout the quarter, and families see goals, progress notes and reports in the Family Portal.

Our Home Education Learning Program uses progress-based reporting to help families understand how their student is learning and developing. Progress reports may include skill development, participation, learning growth, strengths, and areas where additional practice or support may be helpful.

Student learning may also include assignments, courses, or learning programs that provide numeric scores or letter grades. When grades are provided, the A-F grading scale below is used as a reference.

Progress Levels:

• • Exceeding Expectations - Demonstrates strong understanding and can apply the skill independently.
• • Meeting Expectations - Demonstrates the expected understanding or skill.
• • Developing - Making progress but still needs practice or support.
• • Beginning - Beginning to develop the skill and needs continued guidance.
• • Not Yet Assessed - There is not enough information yet to determine progress.
• • Grade Reference: 90-100 = A
• • Grade Reference: 80-89 = B
• • Grade Reference: 70-79 = C
• • Grade Reference: 60-69 = D
• • Grade Reference: Below 60 = F

Tuition

Tuition may be paid in full or on a monthly schedule within the quarter. Families may also apply awarded scholarship funding or approved community or partner agency sponsorship; those decisions are made by those organizations, not by the Academy.

• • Full-Time — $2,500 per quarter ($10,000 per school year)
• • Part-Time — $1,250 per quarter ($5,000 per school year)
• • Registration — $150 for the first student, per school year
• • Registration — $100 for each additional sibling, per school year

Withdrawal

Please tell us in writing when your family decides to withdraw.

A withdrawal during scheduled service days 1 through 15 of the quarter is inside the tuition adjustment window, and day 15 is included. Admin reviews the account and calculates any adjustment. A withdrawal in this window does not automatically create a cash refund.

After Admin review, the result may be a refund, a tuition credit, a scholarship or funding adjustment, an agency adjustment, a remaining family balance, a waived balance, or another documented Admin-approved resolution.

Beginning with scheduled service day 16, no standard tuition refund is available, subject to applicable funding-source requirements. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Enrollment Timing

Students begin the Home Education Learning Program at the start of an academic quarter. If the current quarter is already underway, eligible students are considered for the next available quarter.

Home Education Student Expectations

• • Arrive on time and ready to learn.
• • Work toward the daily learning goals.
• • Treat other students, staff and the learning space with respect.
• • Follow directions from Learning Guides and staff.

Home Education Parent & Guardian Expectations

In addition to the Academy-wide expectations in Part 2, Home Education families are asked to:

• • Review your student's Learning Plan, goals and reports.
• • Keep applicable tuition and fees current.

Home Education Program Access & Logins

In addition to the Academy-wide Digital Access policy in Part 2, when an online educational program is part of a student's Learning Plan, login information is provided privately to the enrolled family. It is not posted publicly and should not be shared outside the household.

Home Education Payments, Late Payment & Financial Standing

This timeline applies only to a Home Education balance your family is responsible for paying. It does not apply to Enrichment Programs. If a scholarship, community or partner agency covers part of the cost, it applies only to the remaining family-responsible portion. A payment that a funding source is still processing is not treated as family nonpayment.

Financial Suspension pauses program attendance and Home Education portal program access until the balance is current or another Admin-approved resolution is documented.

Financial Disenrollment happens only after Admin approval. Home Education attendance ends and parent and student Home Education portal access is revoked. No read-only Home Education family or student portal access remains. Student and financial records are preserved internally by the Academy, and families may contact us about re-enrolling in a future quarter.

• • Days 1-5 past due — grace period
• • Day 6 — a $10 late payment fee may be added after Admin review and approval
• • Day 16 — Financial Suspension may apply if the balance is still unresolved
• • Day 30 — eligible for Admin-approved Financial Disenrollment if the balance is still unresolved

Home Education Late Pickup

Late pickup is separate from late payment.

The Home Education program day ends at 1:00 PM with a grace period through 1:30 PM. After 1:30 PM, a late pickup fee of $10 applies for each 20-minute block or portion of a block. Beginning with the 6th separate late-pickup occurrence, the rate becomes $15 for each 20-minute block or portion of a block.

This late pickup fee schedule applies to the Home Education Learning Program only.

Enrichment Program Overview

Enrichment Programs provide supplemental elective and skill-building learning experiences. Enrolling in an Enrichment Program does not enroll a student in the Home Education Learning Program.

The In-Person 1-on-1 Guided Life Skills option is delivered face-to-face at an approved public or community location.

• • Life Skills — Online — $150 for the 6-week program, $30 per individual session
• • Life Skills — In-Person 1-on-1 Guided — $150 for the 6-week program, $50 per individual session

Enrichment Attendance & Scheduling

Please attend your scheduled sessions and let us know as soon as possible if your student cannot attend.

Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellation and refund terms, when they apply, are shown at checkout for the specific Class Group you are enrolling in.

Enrichment Withdrawal & Refund Boundary

The Home Education withdrawal policy and the 15-service-day tuition adjustment window described in Part 3 apply only to the Home Education Learning Program. They do not apply to Enrichment Programs.

Enrichment cancellation and refund terms remain governed by the existing Enrichment terms shown at checkout for the specific Class Group you are enrolling in.

Enrichment Pickup & Session Times

For in-person Enrichment Programs, please follow the scheduled session ending time and the pickup instructions for that session.

The Home Education late pickup fee schedule described in Part 3 does not apply to Enrichment Programs.

Healthy Kitchen Family Responsibilities

Parents and guardians provide the ingredients and materials used at home. Adult supervision is required when appropriate, including activities that involve cutting tools, blenders or similar kitchen equipment. There is no separate materials fee.

In-Person Program Safety

• • Follow instructor directions.
• • Wear clothing appropriate for the activity.
• • Bring water when requested.
• • Follow safety instructions for the location.
• • Parents should provide accurate participation and safety information during enrollment.
