Welcome

Welcome to the Home Education Learning Program of Enhancing Learning & Enrichment Academy, an educational program of Enhancing Body & Mind.

This handbook is a plain-language guide to the program. If anything is unclear, call the Academy at 239-256-2596.

Mission

We support home-educating families with structure, guidance and consistent progress monitoring so every student can learn with confidence.

Vision

Students who take ownership of their learning, families who stay closely involved, and a learning environment where every student is known by name.

Program overview

The Home Education Learning Program is a structured home-education learning pathway. Families remain the primary educators. The Academy provides an individualized Learning Plan, guided learning support, daily learning goals and regular progress reporting.

  • Learning Guides work with a small group of students each day.
  • Each student has a Learning Plan reviewed with the family.
  • Progress is recorded through the quarter and shared with families.

Grade levels

  • Elementary — Grades K–5
  • Middle School — Grades 6–8
  • High School — Grades 9–12

Schedule

Scheduled learning days are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Friday is reserved for Catch-Up & Learning Support and is scheduled separately.

Attendance

Regular attendance is expected on scheduled learning days. Tell the Academy as early as you can when a student will be absent so the Learning Guide can adjust that day's goals.

Tardy and late arrival

Students should arrive ready to begin at 9:00 AM. Late arrivals are recorded and shorten the learning time available that day.

Planned absence

Tell the Academy in advance when you already know a student will be out. Planned absences are recorded so the Learning Guide can plan review or catch-up work.

Early departure

If a student must leave before the end of the learning day, notify the Academy in advance. Early departures are recorded like other attendance changes.

Friday Catch-Up & Learning Support

Friday Catch-Up & Learning Support is optional and included in tuition at no extra cost.

Space is limited, so Friday attendance must be reserved in advance. Reservations close Thursday at 5:00 PM so staffing and space can be planned.

Parent communication

Families receive updates through the family portal and by email. Please keep your contact information current.

For anything time-sensitive, call the Academy at 239-256-2596.

Academics and progress

Learning is monitored throughout the quarter. Families can see goals, progress notes and reports in the family portal.

  • 90–100 = A
  • 80–89 = B
  • 70–79 = C
  • 60–69 = D
  • Below 60 = F

Learning Plans

Each student has an individualized Learning Plan that describes their current level, focus subjects and goals. Plans are reviewed with the family and updated as the student progresses.

Reports

Families receive regular progress reporting during the school year. Reports summarize goals, participation and progress in the student's focus areas.

Student expectations

  • Arrive on time and ready to learn.
  • Work toward the daily learning goals.
  • Treat other students, staff and the learning space with respect.
  • Follow directions from Learning Guides and staff.

Parent expectations

  • Keep the Academy informed about attendance and schedule changes.
  • Review your student's Learning Plan, goals and reports.
  • Keep tuition and fees current.
  • Pick up students on time.

Tuition and fees

Tuition may be paid in full or on a monthly schedule within the quarter. Families may also apply awarded scholarship funding or approved community/partner agency sponsorship. Award and sponsorship decisions are made by those organizations, not by the Academy.

  • Full-Time — $2,500 per quarter ($10,000 per school year)
  • Part-Time — $1,250 per quarter ($5,000 per school year)
  • Registration — $150 for the first student, per school year
  • Registration — $100 for each additional sibling, per school year
  • Learning materials — included
  • Friday Catch-Up & Learning Support — included

Withdrawal and the 15-service-day tuition adjustment window

Tell the Academy in writing when your family decides to withdraw.

A withdrawal during scheduled service days 1 through 15 of the quarter falls inside the tuition adjustment window. Day 15 is inside the window. A potential tuition adjustment is calculated and reviewed by Admin. A withdrawal in this window does not automatically create a cash refund.

After Admin review, the final treatment may be a refund, a tuition credit, a scholarship or funding adjustment, an agency adjustment, a remaining family balance, a waived balance, or another documented Admin-approved resolution.

Beginning with scheduled service day 16, no standard tuition refund is available under Academy policy, subject to applicable funding-source requirements.

The registration fee is non-refundable.

Late payment on a family-responsible Direct Pay balance

This timeline applies only to a balance the family is responsible for paying. If Step Up or a community or partner agency covers part of the tuition, this timeline applies only to the remaining family-responsible portion. A payment that a funding source is still processing is not treated as family nonpayment.

  • Days 1–5 past due — grace period
  • Day 6 — a $10 late payment fee may be added after Admin review and approval
  • Day 16 — Financial Suspension if the family-responsible balance is still unresolved
  • Day 30 — eligible for Admin-approved Financial Disenrollment if the family-responsible balance is still unresolved

Financial suspension

Financial Suspension pauses program attendance and Home Education portal program access until the family-responsible balance is brought current or another Admin-approved resolution is documented.

Financial disenrollment

If a family-responsible balance is still unresolved at day 30, the student is eligible for Admin-approved Financial Disenrollment.

After Admin approval, attendance ends and parent and student Home Education portal access is revoked. No read-only family or student access remains. Student and financial records are preserved internally by the Academy.

A disenrolled family may contact the Academy about re-enrolling in a future quarter.

Late pickup

Late pickup is separate from late payment.

The program day ends at 1:00 PM, with a grace period through 1:30 PM.

After 1:30 PM, a late pickup fee of $10 applies for each 20-minute block or portion of a block.

Beginning with the 6th separate late-pickup occurrence, the rate becomes $15 for each 20-minute block or portion of a block.

Calendar

Quarter dates, closures and public Academy events are posted on the Academy calendar. Enrolled families also see student-specific dates in the family portal.

Safety and student release

Students are released only to a parent, guardian or an authorized pickup listed by the family. Please bring identification when asked.

Academy programs are educational and wellness-focused. They do not provide medical care, mental-health counseling, psychotherapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy or other licensed clinical services.

Program access and logins

When an online educational program is part of a student's Learning Plan, login information is provided privately to the enrolled family. It is never posted publicly and should not be shared outside the household.

Records and privacy

Student records, Learning Plans, goals, attendance, reports and billing information are private to the family and to authorized Academy staff.

Requests for records should be made in writing to the Academy.
